Terms
Version 1, 4 November 2026. These terms are between you ("you") and Tamar Digital, a sole trader ("we", "us"), owned by Stanley Keighley, of 16 Hay Crescent, Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 9GW. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.
1. What we do
We register domain names for you, host and design websites, provide email and ongoing support, and supply security tools. Which of these you are getting is agreed with you in writing (for example by email) before you pay. Those details, together with these terms, make up your agreement.
2. Requests, quotes and payment
Sending a request through our website does not buy anything and does not commit you or us. We reply within 2 working days. The prices shown on the site are a guide: we reply with the final price and what is included, and the yearly renewal price may change. The agreement starts when you accept our quote and pay.
You can pay by card (a secure payment link from Stripe) or Direct Debit (a sign-up page from GoCardless). We never see your card or bank details. The monthly care plan, which includes hosting, is paid by Direct Debit. One-off prices, such as having your site built or a redesign, are paid by card. Domains and email are paid for before we buy them and renewed each year (see Renewal below). You see your site first: you pay the build fee when you are happy for it to go live. Our current prices are on the pricing page.
3. Domain names
You will be the registrant. We register the domain in your details, so you are its registrant (its legal holder) from the start. The domain is held in our Porkbun account, and we manage it for you. If the domain is for a business, the business should be the registrant. We email you the registration details once the domain is registered. A domain is not property you own outright: it is a registration that lasts only while it is renewed and the rules of the registry are followed.
We are not a registrar. Domains we buy are registered through Porkbun LLC, an ICANN-accredited registrar (porkbun.com), and its terms apply to the registration. You can find the sponsoring registrar of any domain at lookup.icann.org.
Accurate details. You must give us complete and accurate contact details and tell us promptly if they change. False or out-of-date details can lead to a domain being suspended or cancelled without refund. Some extensions have extra rules (for example Nominet's rules for .uk domains), and we will tell you if they affect you.
Public data. Registry and registrar rules may require some details to be held in, or shown through, the public WHOIS/RDDS system, although personal data is often hidden. What is shown depends on the extension and the registrar, and we can tell you what is shown for your domain.
Renewal. A domain expires at the end of the period paid for. We email you the renewal price 60 days before it renews, again 30 days before, and again a week before, and ask you to confirm each time. We renew a domain only once you have confirmed and paid. If we do not hear from you it may expire, and after expiry the domain may stop working and may be released for others to register. Renewal prices can change: the price in each reminder is the price you pay.
Transfers. You can move your domain to another provider at any time, and we help you transfer it, subject to the ICANN transfer policy and registry rules (typically a domain cannot be transferred within 60 days of first registration). We do not charge for the transfer, although your new provider may. We never hold a domain hostage.
Misuse and disputes. You must not use a domain unlawfully or in a way that infringes anyone's rights, including trademarks. You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, your chosen name does not infringe anyone's rights. Disputes may be decided under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) or the registry's own procedure (for .uk, Nominet's Dispute Resolution Service). If someone gives us reasonable evidence that your domain is causing actionable harm, we may have to disclose your identity and contact details to them within seven days.
Your rights as a registrant.

4. Hosting
We offer static hosting only: websites made of ordinary files (HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images), served securely with the padlock (HTTPS). We do not offer ordinary web hosting. Static hosting is included in the care plan (section 6) and is not sold on its own, so it is only available while you have the care plan. You can send us your own files, or we build the site for you. If you do not take the care plan, we hand you your files and you host them elsewhere.
If the care plan stops. You get your website files, and the domain stays yours because it is registered in your name. Your site comes down 30 days after notice, so you have time to move it.
There is no minimum term. We do not guarantee that your site will always be online, so please keep your own copy of your website files.
5. Web design and redesigns
Having your site built for you costs £219 one-off. We show you a private preview, which you can look at on your phone, before it goes live, and we check it on a laptop, tablet and phone first. You pay the build fee when you are happy for it to go live. If you would rather send your own files, there is no build fee. A redesign of an existing site is £69 for a small or medium job (a refresh of up to about 3 pages) and £99 for a large one (more than 3 pages, or new pages or sections). A new look or layout is quoted separately. We tell you the price before we start. You own your text, photos and logo. When you have paid in full, the finished design and files are yours to keep. We need your text, photos and logo before we start.
6. The care plan
The care plan costs £11.99 a month, paid by Direct Debit. It includes: up to 3 small changes a month, such as text, photos or opening hours, which do not roll over to the next month; fixes if anything breaks; renewal reminders and help setting up email; and a reply within 2 working days.
The care plan includes static hosting (see section 4), which keeps your site online with the padlock (HTTPS). These are quoted separately: new pages or sections, a new look or layout, new features such as a shop, booking or a quiz, and writing your copy or taking photos. Anything bigger than a small change is quoted as a redesign (£69 or £99).
Leaving. You can leave at any time by giving 30 days' notice. We do not refund the current month, and your site comes down 30 days after your notice. We will give you your site files and help you transfer your domain.
If payments stop. If a monthly payment fails we email you. We never hold your domain or your files back: they stay yours, and we will help you move them. If the care plan ends, the usual 30 days' notice applies and then the site comes down.
Secure your business, device setup and remote support
Security tools. We supply and set up privacy-first tools made by other companies: a password manager, secure business email, a VPN and secure cloud storage. We confirm the tool, the number of users, the price and the term in writing before you pay. Each tool is licensed to you by its maker, not by us, and you must accept the maker's own licence terms and privacy policy. No tool can make you completely safe, so we cannot promise that data or passwords will never be lost or accessed by someone else. Keep your own backups. If you use a password manager you are responsible for your master password, because we cannot recover it. These are charged per user, per month, and continue until you tell us to stop.
Setup and migration. Setting up the tools and moving your existing passwords, email and files across is a one-off job, quoted and agreed in writing first. Back up anything important before we start.
Device setup. Setting up Wi-Fi, printers, computers and phones is a one-off job, quoted and agreed in writing first.
Remote support. Remote support is agreed with you in writing first. We only connect to your computer when you ask us to and only for the agreed session, we tell you what we are doing, and we do not keep access afterwards. Back up important files first.
Google Business Profile upkeep. We keep the details on your Google Business Profile accurate and up to date. You stay the owner of the profile and must give us access, which you can remove at any time. We cannot promise any particular ranking, views, calls or reviews. It is charged monthly, on its own or with website care as the care bundle, and continues until you tell us to stop, with 30 days' notice.
Email mailboxes. A mailbox is an inbox on your domain provided through a third-party email host. It is charged per mailbox, per year, and renews each year unless you tell us before the renewal date.
7. Cancelling
If you are buying as an individual (not for a business), you have 14 days from ordering to change your mind. If you ask us to start work during those 14 days, you will pay for the work already done if you then cancel. Domain registrations are bought from a third party and can't be refunded once registered.
Care plan: you can cancel any time by giving 30 days' notice; we don't refund the current month. Your site comes down 30 days after your notice.
Requesting a taken domain
We will contact the owner of a taken domain on your behalf and report back with a price. We don't guarantee we can get it. Our fee is £9.99 if unsuccessful and £20.99 if successful. The purchase price, escrow and transfer costs are extra and you agree them before we buy. Purchases are paid for in advance and go through an escrow service. We won't act on names that match someone else's trademark or brand. Once bought, the domain is registered in your name. You confirm that you have the right to use the name and that it doesn't infringe anyone's trademark or business name. We may decline any request, and we may stop acting at any time.
Price match
Seen a domain cheaper elsewhere? Send us proof and we'll match it if we can. It applies to domains only, not website builds or the care plan, and only to the first registration, not renewals. It must be the same domain name and the same registration period, available to buy right now at the registrar's normal public price. We need a link and a screenshot that show the price and the date. We don't match promo codes, first-time-customer or first-year-only deals, bundles or free-with-hosting offers, loyalty or member prices, or prices that only apply with conditions. We never go below our own cost, so if the other price is lower than that we will say so and decline. We decide each request ourselves, we can withdraw the offer at any time, and it only applies before the domain is bought. A price match is never combined with a multi-year discount.
Registering for more than one year
If you register a new domain, or transfer one to us, for two years or more, we take part of our own fee off the price for each year. Our search results show the total for each term and what you save. The discount does not apply to renewals, taken-domain requests or price-match orders. The years are paid in full when we buy the domain and are not refundable for years you do not use.
8. Our liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude. Otherwise we are not responsible for the actions of registries, registrars or other third parties, for loss caused by events outside our control, or for indirect or business losses, and our total liability to you for any one matter is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it arose. to confirm Solicitor to check this section, especially for consumers.
9. Changes, contact and law
Registries, ICANN and our registrar can change their rules, and we may need to update these terms to match. We will tell you about important changes by email, normally at least 30 days before they apply.
Contact us at [email protected], on 07570 298967, or by post at Tamar Digital, 16 Hay Crescent, Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 9GW. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts can decide disputes, although consumers keep any right to bring claims in their home nation.
